My sister passed away this evening

it was only about two months ago she was diagnosed with lung cancer and she was a non smoker .. she was never a jw and she never held it against me that i was for 33 years.. we had a good relationship even though we lived in different states about 2000 miles apart,.. tears are rolling down my cheeks as i type this .

No longer gods channel of communication?

she claims that if you go all over the jw.borg website you will no longer be able to find any mention of the organization or the fds being gods channel of communication.

so what’s your thoughts on why the change?

A quick Google sent me to a 1994 Watchtower on their website. Here is a screen shot where it states the FDS is Jehovah's channel of communication

The Cosmos an orderly created universe by a God ? or is it a chaotic universe without order or arrangement by any God ?

or is the universe just following the natural laws of physics etc,etc.. i remember when i was "in" talks and books by the society highlighted the order of the universe went like clockwork ,sun ,moon and stars all in their relative positions and not one out of their place .. however the advancement in science of the universe / astronomy shows a much more different picture that demonstrates a more chaotic realism of what actually goes on out their in this vast universe .. black holes , which can merge together , galaxies colliding and merging together , large meteors ,some of which have crashed here on earth ,supernovas ,stars being born and stars in their death throes .. just some of the things off the top of my head ,apparently their are many more.. i look forward to comments and some good book to read on the subject..

Are meteorites hitting earth part of God's plan or did Eve put the entire universe out of kilter when she munched on that "forbidden fruit"?

I was recruited in with 3 children so fortunately not an issue for me but there were a few couples "waiting" and now missed that window of opportunity. Some pioneer sisters wanting to marry "only in the lord" never did and are now in their late 50s. I went to school with one of them. She still lives with her parents and has never even had a foreign holiday. What a wasted life. I feel so sad for her. Although I have had some real down periods in my life I have "lived" and seen places, met wonderful people and have great memories. I'm not even aware that she ever actually recruited anyone into the cult for her to celebrate nor has she even ever had a dog let alone children. Saddest life ever. :(

IBSA first then a bit further down as Watchtower. Add the 2 figures together and that's a huge amount of money they have coming in.

Faders Needing a Great One Liner

so our family fade is well under way.

we changed congregations as regular attenders and left in good standing with those giving hugs and kisses simply knowing we "needed a change".

we moved to a neighboring congregation that is out of our original region knowing we would see no one and the two boe's wouldn't really have immediate dealings.

I found out how quickly you can be forgotten when visiting UK after being in Spain about 18 months or so.

I went into the hall expecting to be greeted like I had seen others being greeted excitedly and happily at conventions. Most didn't remember me at all so fading in a large city has been a complete breeze.

i remember when my faith left me.

i used to enjoy meetings and used to participate but then all of a sudden i was finding myself bored shitless at meetings.

i was taken off the theocratic ministry school for not attending when i was due to give a talk and not long after did something naughty and got disfellowshiped.

Long answer:

2008 I already felt there was no love and had doubts but it was the memorial so... A friend also struggling with depression and other stuff wanted to go to it but not ours so we went to the Spanish speaking one.

In a foreign language it all suddenly seemed a bit ridiculous and pointless watching complete strangers passing plates and goblets up and down the rows with no one having any.

I might have been to a few meetings inbetween I'm not sure but a year later and back in UK attending another memorial I was expecting to feel all warm and fuzzy now I was "back home" but I felt uncomfortable and like I didn't belong. That was my last ever meeting and still no-one has asked if I am ok or why I don't go any more. Zero contact from any of my so called brothers and sisters in almost 10 years now.

Maybe try saying you missed so.many meetings because (make something up) or life got in the way but now you no longer recognise the religion as the one you once belonged to. The "truth" being taught now compared to the "truth" you taught has changed so much you need time to study and catch up. By the way, can you explain the over lapping generation thing cos I am really having a problem with that one. (Substitute overlapping generation for blood fractions, the resurrection of Sodom and Gomorah or any other doctrine you know they have flip flopped on).

I am faded in a new town too (only 8 miles from my old cong) but still not bumped into anyone I know in almost 10 years.
